Important Update- Delays in Processing Navy PEB Cases
For those of you whose cases have recently completed the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) stage and have been forwarded to the Navy Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) for processing, please be aware that there are ongoing significant delays impacting case decisions.
The Navy PEB is currently facing challenges in implementing a new information management system. As a result, the Board has not been able to consistently process or issue decisions since September 11, 2025.
While the recent government shutdown has contributed to additional delays, it’s important to note that these issues will persist even after operations resume, as the primary cause is technical difficulties with the new system.
Many individuals may not be aware of this situation because it has no direct impact on the MEB or the VA sides of the process. However, when your Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officers (PEBLOs) advise you to expect extended timelines, their guidance is accurate and based on current conditions.
It’s completely understandable to feel frustrated by the wait. However, please keep in mind that submitting Congressional inquiries or Inspector General (IG) complaints will not expedite case processing, as these delays are due to system-wide challenges beyond the control of PEB staff.
