How to Prepare for a USPHS Medical Review Board

If you are preparing for a USPHS Medical Review Board, then the first question is whether you wish to be found Fit or Unfit.  If fit, then your nonmedical evidence should reflect that you are able to perform all your assigned duties despite any potentially unfitting conditions.  If Unfit, then you would be wise to have your doctors complete VA DBQ forms for each of your potentially unfitting conditions.  Not only will this prepare you for filing your VA claim, but it will provide USPHS adjudicators with objective assessment written in such a manner as to reflect the very VA rating codes that they will apply to your case  Trust me it works- I do it in every USPHS MRB/MAB case in which I am retained as counsel.  Thus far, it has not failed to obtain the optimum result for my clients without requiring a formal hearing.
